EVERYTHING ABOUT ENEA BASTIANINI
Enea Bastianini’s remarkable second season in MotoGP earned him a coveted spot in the factory Ducati team for 2023, partnering with reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia. However, Bastianini’s debut season with the factory team was marred by injury, although he bounced back towards the end of the year with a thrilling victory at Sepang.
Bastianini’s journey to MotoGP was characterized by perseverance and skill. Despite spending five seasons in Moto3, he made an immediate impact in Moto2, clinching the title in only his second attempt. His consistency and determination were evident throughout his career, from his podium finish in the Moto3 standings in 2015 to his runner-up position in Moto2 in 2016 behind Brad Binder.
After transitioning to Moto2 in 2019 with Italtrans Racing Team, Bastianini continued to impress as a consistent top-ten performer. His breakthrough came in 2020 when he secured the Moto2 title after a closely contested season, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure.
His move to MotoGP in 2021 with Avintia Racing saw him deliver promising results despite the challenges of racing with older machinery. Despite struggling with qualifying, Bastianini managed to stand on the podium twice and outperformed his teammate, Luca Marini, in the championship standings.
In 2022, Bastianini joined the newly formed Gresini-Ducati team, where he immediately made an impact by winning the season opener in Qatar. Throughout the season, he showcased his talent with four victories and remained in contention for the championship until the penultimate round.
His impressive performances earned him a place in the factory Ducati team for 2023, where he faced the challenge of defending his seat against strong competition from riders like Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi. Despite the pressure, Bastianini’s determination and skill set him apart as one of the rising stars in MotoGP.
