Jorge Martin acknowledges his stronger connection to Ducati amidst rumors linking the team to a potential switch to Yamaha machinery.

Jorge Martin has been transparent about his MotoGP ambitions, aiming to join a factory team, be it at Ducati or another manufacturer.

The likelihood seems strongest at Ducati, especially following Fabio Quartararo’s recent signing of a new two-year deal with Yamaha. Yamaha was a brand previously linked to Martin had it lost the grip on the 2021 world champion.

Asked about rumors hinting at Pramac switching to M1 machinery, Jorge Martin clarified his stance on his desired location for the 2025 season.

“I am currently more closely aligned with Ducati than with Pramac,” Martin stated. “It has been this way throughout my entire MotoGP career. Everyone knows where my priorities lie.

“Let’s see because it’s still early, but my hope is to transition to a factory team. Even if Pramac undergoes changes, I believe I won’t remain here.”

While racers such as Francesco Bagnaia, Brad Binder, and Marc Marquez have demonstrated similar raw speed in race conditions as Jorge Martin, the current series leader has showcased greater consistency compared to his competitors.

Martin, who claimed victory in the Portuguese MotoGP after securing third place in the sprint at Portimao, enters this weekend’s round three of the 2024 season with an 18-point lead over Binder.
