Jorge Martín finds himself among the group of MotoGP riders in the final year of his current contract. The former 2023 runner-up is presently under contract with Ducati, racing for the Prima Pramac Racing satellite team. However, despite a strong showing last season, he has yet to secure a position in the factory team.

All indications suggest that this could very well be Martín’s last year with his current team, as he harbors ambitions of joining a factory team, whether it be with Ducati or another manufacturer, should the doors at Borgo Panigale remain closed to him.

Presently, Francesco Bagnaia has a confirmed contract until 2026, leaving just one seat remaining in the factory team. This seat is currently occupied by Enea Bastianini, whose contract also expires at the end of this season. However, the competition for this coveted spot is fierce, with numerous contenders vying for the opportunity, including the likes of Marc Márquez from Gresini Racing.

During a recent press conference, Martín was asked about the potential timeline for discussions with other manufacturers. In response, he tactfully replied, “I don’t think it’s the right moment to discuss my future. I’ve already proven myself, but I have ample opportunity to continue demonstrating my capabilities throughout this year. I trust that my manager is actively working on it.”

As Martín navigates this pivotal point in his career, the intrigue surrounding his future in MotoGP continues to grow. With his undeniable talent and impressive track record, the anticipation mounts as fans and pundits alike eagerly await the unfolding of Martín’s next chapter in the world of premier motorcycle racing.
