    EVERYTHING ABOUT RAUL FERNANDEZ

In 2020, Raul Fernandez’s Moto3 campaign saw a late surge, marked by podiums and victories, signaling a shift in momentum. Despite questions surrounding his decision to move up to Moto2 with Ajo the following year rather than contending for the Moto3 title, Fernandez swiftly proved his mettle. His debut in the intermediate class was nothing short of impressive, qualifying second and securing victory at Portimao in just the third round.

With eight wins under his belt, Fernandez’s rookie Moto2 season surpassed even Marc Marquez’s achievements. However, occasional errors cost him crucial points, ultimately allowing teammate Remy Gardner to clinch the title.

In a move that raised eyebrows, Fernandez transitioned directly to MotoGP alongside Gardner at Tech3 KTM in 2022. Speculations suggested that KTM’s decision was prompted by interest from rival teams like Yamaha and Aprilia. However, the RC16 failed to deliver promising results for either Tech3 rider, prompting Fernandez to express his desire to explore other opportunities as early as round six at Jerez, following an injury sustained at Portimao.

Although Fernandez struggled initially, he scored his debut MotoGP points at Catalunya, eventually outscoring teammate Gardner. With little incentive to retain Fernandez against his wishes, KTM agreed to his departure, allowing him to join RNF and Aprilia for the 2023 season.
