EVERYTHING ABOUT MARCO BEZZECCHI
Entering his third season in MotoGP, Marco Bezzecchi continues his journey with Ducati, aiming to build on his promising start in the premier class.
Named Rookie of the Year in 2022, Bezzecchi’s sophomore campaign in 2023 was exceptional, culminating in a third-place finish in the championship standings, trailing only Jorge Martin and world champion Pecco Bagnaia.
BEZZECCHI’S PATH TO MOTOGP
Bezzecchi’s grand prix career began with wildcard appearances in Moto3 in 2015 and 2016, followed by a full-time debut with the CIP Mahindra team in 2017. Despite facing challenges, he showcased his potential with a podium finish at Motegi.
A move to PrustelGP and KTM in 2018 proved fruitful, as Bezzecchi emerged as a championship contender, securing three wins and finishing third overall.
However, his transition to Moto2 with Tech3 KTM in the subsequent season saw a downturn in performance, with Bezzecchi finishing 23rd in the standings. Yet, supported by VR46, he moved to their Kalex team in 2020, where he bounced back with two wins, seven podiums, and a fourth-place championship finish.
Although Bezzecchi faced stiff competition from dominant Ajo teammates in 2021, he secured a commendable third place in the championship. His consistent performance caught the attention of VR46, leading to his selection for their MotoGP team lineup.
Despite starting with GP21 machines, Bezzecchi showcased his talent with notable achievements such as a podium at Assen and a pole position in Buriram, finishing 14th in the championship.
For the 2023 season, Bezzecchi transitioned to the world championship-winning GP22 bike, setting the stage for further progression in his MotoGP career.
