Is Francesco Bagnaia set to team up with Marc Marquez as Ducati’s factory duo for the ’25 season?

Francesco Bagnaia acknowledges that Marc Marquez could seamlessly integrate into the factory Ducati team.

Marquez is one of the top contenders to join Bagnaia as his teammate for the 2025 season in Ducati’s official lineup.

Marquez has been intensifying his efforts to secure a factory-spec bike for the upcoming season.

When asked about the possibility of partnering with Marquez, Bagnaia commented, “Coming from 11 years on the Honda factory bike, he would bring additional expertise and would adapt smoothly.” He added, “However, our current level is already very high, with great attention to detail.”

Bagnaia clinched victory in a thrilling duel at the Spanish MotoGP, where Marquez ended up with tire marks on his racing leathers.

Their exhilarating battle in Jerez marked another chapter in their burgeoning rivalry.

During the Portimao race, Bagnaia’s overtaking attempt led to both riders ending up in the gravel, creating a tense situation that Ducati had to address afterward.

Bagnaia, secured in a long-term contract as Ducati’s star rider after claiming consecutive MotoGP titles, currently shares the team with Enea Bastianini. However, Bastianini’s contract is up for renewal, leaving room for potential changes.

Despite Bastianini’s strong performances, there are discussions about his future with Ducati. Additionally, Jorge Martin of Pramac has expressed a desire to move up to the factory team or consider other options.

Meanwhile, Marquez’s presence adds an intriguing element to the team dynamics. Riding the GP23 this season, he has shown impressive speed and has been experimenting with equipment adjustments similar to those used by Bagnaia and Martin during the recent Jerez test.

As Marquez continues to adapt from Honda to Ducati, speculation grows about the possibility of him joining Bagnaia in the factory team next season.
